If you want cruise all day at 100 in a boat that feels like a stretch limo, the Skater 46 Race/Pleasure more than delivers with the smooth ride that comes from years of dominating the the offshore racing and poker run circuits. No matter the water conditions, the Skater 46 Race/Pleasure is in command, flying level and landing softly in waves and riding on a cushion or air in light chop. Sit back and relax in five high-backed bucket seats that are protected from onrushing wind by F-16-style quarter canopies. For convenience, all the controls are within easy reach at the helm and the standard 40-gallon ballast tank provides even more control. What we’ve learned building raceboats is used on this boat, including a proprietary blend of S-glass, kevlar and aircraft grade balsa core with epoxy resins. Of course, it’s all vacuum-bagged for optimum weight savings and strength and the hull and deck are bonded around the entire perimeter.
